How 12 years in software, thousands of forum complaints, and the Big 4's silence led me to build what they wouldn't.
After 12 years building software at organizations ranging from agencies to enterprises, I took note of a bottleneck that crossed every business. Automated email to task was the problem that had never been solved.
Sure, many project management apps claim they have email to task or email to ticket. But their own forums, filled with complaints and pleas to fix it, were widely ignored by what I call the Big 4: Jira, Asana, Monday, and ClickUp.
So why did I think this was such a big deal? Well, peer-reviewed articles confirmed what my gut, and yours, knew all along.
of the workweek lost
We spend a ton of time going back to emails, hunting in replies for files and details. McKinsey found that 19% of the workweek is spent searching for information and tracking down colleagues.

to regain focus
Every time I had to shift gears to find something or reach out to someone for an asset I couldn't locate, my train of thought was interrupted. I'd lose flow, even great ideas.

per week vanishing
Add it up across a team and the number gets ugly. Harvard found that workers spend 4 hours per week reorienting after switching. That's 10% of payroll vanishing into context switching.

At first I went on a mission to find my company a PM app that solved this. The claims were there, but as a software dev, I knew how tricky it'd be to solve for all email platforms, parse replies, and save attachments.
So I went to the forums to see what their customers were saying.
Can't say I was surprised.

"In our use-case, this was a deal-breaker. Following a hugely frustrating period of trying to make it work, with absolute lack of traction from support, and it consistently failing, we abandoned the app entirely and created our own solution."

That settled it. I decided to build what y'all asked them to build, but they wouldn't.

I build simple tools from the trenches, not boardroom features designed to satisfy shareholders.
After 12 years of watching teams drown in email chaos while the Big 4 collected enterprise contracts and ignored their forums, I knew someone had to actually solve the problem. So I built Casso, the tool I wish existed from day one.
Forward your emails to your existing PM tool. No migration. No learning curve. Just results.
